Associate Partner Tracked Above Market Compensation
This prestigious international law firm is expanding their IP practice group on a national level. The IP leadership has the support of the firm’s Global Chair and various leaders from the firm’s operating committees. The IP leadership currently has a critical role for an Associate in their National Technology Prosecution/Counseling Practice Group. This Associate should have an educational background in either electrical engineering, computer science, material science or physics, along with 1 to 3 years of Big Law experience working in a patent prosecution client counseling role. This Associate will work directly for the IP Chair and two other IP Partners who are part of the IP group’s leadership team. The Associate will also be working on the group’s most critical clients in addition to be the point person on two of these clients. This Associate will work on cutting edge complex prosecution matters that involves extensive interaction with clients, providing them counseling on various IP patent and technical issues. These clients consist of large international Fortune companies and emerging technology companies.
The leadership is willing to pay this Associate an above market compensation. The firm’s current compensation plan follows the Cravath pay scale. The IP Leadership will also sponsor this Associate for Partnership consideration walking in the door. A Partner track trajectory plan will be put into place, so this Associate will be on a defined time-line for Partner.
This Associate will also be a member of the new business development team that will be involved in making pitches to potential new clients. In addition, the IP group currently has several clients in the Tech Space that are high growth companies and this Associate will work closely with these clients assisting them in patent portfolio development, helping the client expand their current patent portfolio. The leadership will pay an additional bonus for work in this arena.

The qualified candidate must have excellent academics, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. The firm is looking for this person for their Seattle, WA office and the firm will pay for relocation.
