Associate IP Leadership Role, Partner Tracked
The Partners of this prestigious Boston Life Science practice group have turned to one of our Network Recruiters for assistance to locate a Mid-Level IP Life Science Associate, who has the ability to be an IP Group Leader.
The qualified Associate should have 4 to 6 years of Big Law experience. This Associate should hold an advanced degree (PhD is highly desirable) in Chemistry or related sciences. The firm is looking for this person to be based out of their Boston office. The firm is considering candidates who would like to work remotely. The firm will also pay relocation expenses to Boston and at the current time allow this person to remain working from home. This Associate should have strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and superior academic credentials.
This Associate will be the point person on three of the group's most prestigious clients. This Associate will have extensive interaction with in-house clients. These companies are the IP group’s most prestigious life science clients. The Associate will provide the IP Leadership at these companies with counseling services in the areas of complex patent issues, cutting edge scientific issues, and various complex legal strategies. These clients are actively growing companies and this Associate will also assist the IP leaders with expanding their patents through patent portfolio development. The work in this role outside of counseling will also involve cutting edge patent prosecution, in addition to complex IP transactional work in connection with business transactions, due diligence analysis, and patent opinions. This Group Leader will have a team consisting of Agents, Advisors, and Associates that he/she will be responsible for mentoring and managing. The IP Leadership is hoping that this Associate will be able to fast track into a Counsel role and then into the Partnership tracks. The group is growing and the leadership would like to have an up through the ranks Associate to Partner promotion. The promotion to Counsel will happen when the Associate demonstrates that he/she has the ability to be in the role. This will also apply to the promotion into the Partnership ranks.
This position is a Partnership track and is being sponsored by Partners who sit on the firm’s executive and admin committees. The firm is NOT on a lock-step compensation and will offer a competitive compensation plan. This is a critical role for the IP Leadership and they are committed to offering an excellent compensation plan along with a clear path to Partner.
