Sr. Associate to Counsel Walking in the Door No Portable Business Required

This growing middle market national law firm is seeking a Counsel level attorney for their expanding Technical IP Practice Group.  They are looking for a Sr. Attorney who has Partnership aspirations and possesses the skill set to join the group as a Counsel, and progress to Partner on a faster than normal trajectory.  Leaders of the IP group who sit on the Executive Committee of the firm are sponsoring this role and no portable business is required. 

This attorney should have experience working on complex patent prosecution matters, counseling clients on designing around competing patents, and opinion work including non-infringement and invalidity opinions. Expertise is in the areas of wireless technology, connected devices and smart devices is preferred. Also any experience with motor design, control systems, power tools or other motorized consumer products is also desired.  

The firm is looking for an attorney with 6 plus years of legal experience in a national, regional law firm or an IP boutique. Admission to the USPTO and a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required.  Excellent academics along with strong writing and communication skills are a must.  The firm will provide excellent compensation and cover relocation.  The position will be based out of the firm’s office in Chicago, IL.
