This international AM firm has merged smaller IP Groups into their practice over the past few years. These additions increased the bench strength of the IP group, thus attracting new clients into the practice.  The firm accounted for the new business that groups were bringing into the practice, but the IP Leadership did not plan on the emergence of new clients that would manifest because of the newly branded entity as this does not always occur when firms take on new groups.  The largest influx of new business is in the Life Sciences Patent Practice Group.  The attorneys that joined the practice group have been nationally recognized by various publications to be among the best lawyers in the country to work in the IP Life Sciences arena.

The group is emerging as one of the nation’s elite IP Life Sciences practices, and the type of work the group attracts tends to be complex and cutting edge in nature as the team has developed a reputation for servicing the higher end of the marketplace. They focus on servicing emerging and developing companies, including private and public businesses in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

The firm has turned to our Network Agent as they are looking to add a Patent Agent, who currently holds a Ph.D. in Life Sciences to join their growing and expanding IP Life Sciences Practice Group.  This person will work directly with the major Partners and clients in the United States and Asia on complex and sophisticated patent matters.  This person will assist the Partners providing clients with strategic counseling on the development and commercialization of patent portfolios for the bio-pharma industry. This person can be currently enrolled or planning to attend law school as the firm is willing to pay for their schooling. They will also consider a Lifetime Patent Agent.  This position will involve patent prosecution of pharmaceutical, biotechnical and chemical patents and will also include managing and developing patent portfolios involving sophisticated technologies. The firm provides an excellent quality of life and above market compensation. This Patent Agent can be based out of the firm’s Washington, D.C. or San Diego office.
