Patent Agent Up to 220K Base Salary 50K Plus Bonus (Prosecution/Transactional/Client Counseling)

This prestigious international law firm has won a variety of awards by various publications, including Law Firm of the Year. The firm’s profits have grown by 35% to 45% the last 4 years in a row.

The IP leadership is looking to bring on board a Patent Agent to play a leadership role on some of the group’s key clients. This Patent Agent will focus complex cutting edge patent prosecution work, as well as IP transactional and client counseling work. This work involves extensive client interaction on complex patent issues and working with clients regarding patent portfolio development. The Agent will also supervise and train other Agents. 

The qualified Patent Agent should hold an advanced degree (Ph.D., Masters) in life science studies, in the Chemistry or a related scientific field. A strong Organic Chemistry background is helpful and desired.  As a result of the complex nature of the work and the extensive client interaction, qualified candidate must have excellent academics, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. The firm will pay for relocation to Boston office. They will also consider basing this person out of their Silicon Valley or New York City offices. 

The IP leadership will put together an above market compensation package. The firm compensates off lock step. Compensation for this role is up to 220K and bonus potential in the 50K arena.  Patent Agents and Tech Advisor bonuses are treated like Associates and are paid on the Cravath scale, which is the highest in the country. ?
